Is he having an allergy or some kind of skin irritation? Do you think he is cold or warm? What about his diaper, isn’t it dirty already? Or if not, try to check if he is sick, sleepy or restless. Some babies cry because they just want to be comforted, they wanted you to hold them, to pacify them. Much more, they need to feel your loving touch. In some rare cases for breastfed babies, such behavior can also be caused by certain foods taken by the mother. Thus, it only tells that mother should be extra careful with the foods she is about to eat.

After you identify the cause, you may have to try any of the given solutions, whichever suits your baby’s needs and situation. These are the top five solutions to calm down a fastidious infant of yours. May these could assist you in prevailing over the challenge.

    1. Nurturing. Breastfeeding is so far, the best solution to calm down a fussy baby. This is one very good advantage that greatly manifests the significance of breastfeeding your child. Most importantly, it plays a vital role in providing the mother and the child a strong and unique bond that nothing can surpass.
    2. Playing Music. This is indeed, proven effective to me and my baby. When he was still months to a year old, he really loved to hear music and so until now. What I did is bought him a CD with his favorite songs sang by a famous singer Jose Marie Chan. I play it every time he has some discomforts or tantrums at night. Upon hearing the very first song, he’ll calm down and gradually divert his attention to each song, until he finally falls asleep again. Not only at night but every moment he changes his mood. It also works best to soothe him when he is sick.
    3. Tender Loving Touch. Perhaps, your little dear is just seeking comfort from you or anyone around him. If you are the mother, you can easily sense that your baby needs your touch. So, you better respond to that need immediately. Offer him the most of your tender loving touch as a mother. Proffer him a hug or just hold him affectionately. This would develop his trust.
    4. Convey an Infant Message. This is in conjunction to the previous solution. However, in this case, you need to do something more than just a touch. This is done by simply giving your infant a pacifying massage. Aside from the relaxing feeling your child can acquire, it will craft a new bonding experience between you and your dear baby.
    5. Offer a Relaxing Swing. A swing is also proven a great auxiliary to pacifying a troubled baby. The fact that swing produces a rocking motion makes your little baby feel the same movement, when he was still inside the womb. Eventually, this soothes his feelings quickly.

Indeed, it is true that dealing with your baby’s fussiness is never that easy, yet the rewarding feeling you acquire in the end, from such experience makes the job more fulfilling.
