The Signs

There are times when your baby may get a runny nose, sore throat, cough, fever and even red eyes. Your baby will experience this and may last at least 7 to 10 days; of course, there are colds that may last longer than this. Sometimes, your baby will become bad-tempered or unhappy that it would give you a hard time just to make him smile.

Now, if your baby cannot blow his own nose, you need to keep it clean yourself. Your baby may experience 6 to 10 baby colds in a year especially if he is spending a lot of time around other babies. It is because his immune system is still immature. Babies under 6 months old may experience difficulty in breathing and some may wake up late night. However, if you see that your baby has itchy skin, watery eyes, repeated sneezing, or the mucus from his nose did not become thick and stays clear, maybe your baby got an allergy and not a cold.

Keep in mind that it is always wise to go to a doctor to look on your child’s condition. Doctors may prescribe some medication to heal the illness. However, if you baby needs to have a vaccine but still having colds, never hesitate to call your doctor for advice. But more often than not, they will always tell you to wait until your baby is healed just to be safe and avoid future complications.
