Six Fun Baby Shower Games To Keep Guests Laughing
If you are in charge of planning a baby shower, part of the fun in planning is choosing the fun baby shower games to play during the shower. Playing games is a great way to keep the guests entertained and they are the perfect icebreaker for guests who do not know each other. Shower games should be quick to play and do not forget to give out cute gifts to the winners. The following six games are very easy to put together and do not take long to play.
As guests arrive to the shower provide them with a few clothespins. The clothespins are attached to their shirt and each time they hear someone else say the word, baby, they take a clothespin from them. Whoever has the most clothespins at the end of the shower wins the prize.
Guessing the size of the mommy to be tummy is also a fun game to play. You can use yarn, string or toilet paper to measure her tummy. Pass around the material being used to measure the size of her tummy and each guest will cut off the length they think the size of mommy to be tummy is. After all guests have made their measurement they wrap it around the mothers tummy and whoever has the closest measurement wins.
Print out several game sheets that have about ten lines from popular nursery rhymes. Remove either one word or a group of words from each line, leaving a blank space where the words were removed. Provide each guest with a game sheet and give them a specific time limit to fill in the blanks. Whoever has the most correct nursery rhymes filled in, wins the game.
Buy several jars of baby food, usually about seven jars is plenty. Remove the labels from the jars, but put a number on each jar and write down on a piece of paper what food each number is. Give each guest a piece of paper and pencil. Pass around the jars of baby food for the guests to guess what each is. The guest try to guess what kind of baby food each jar is and write down their answer. Whoever guesses the most foods is the winner.
Test your guests memory with the now you see it, now you don’t game. Buy about ten different baby items such as a bib, diaper, hairbrush, pacifier and lotion. Put all of the items in a basket and set the basket on a table somewhere in the room. When you are ready to play the game, remove the basket out of the guests sight. Give the guests a pencil and piece of paper and ask them to write down as many items as they can remember from the basket. The guest who guesses the most items wins.
The dirty diaper game always gets a big laugh from the guests. You will need five different candy bars and five disposable diapers. Just before the shower begins, melt each candy bar separately in the microwave and put it in a disposable diaper. Smear the candy bar around a bit inside the diaper so it will be more difficult to know what it is. When it is time to play the game, pass around each diaper and the guest write down what kind of candy bar is in the diaper. The winner is the one with the most correct candy bars.
There are several fun baby shower games that can be found on the internet and printed out such as guessing games and fill in the blank games. The goal is to help the mother to be and her guests have a good time so choose games that will have the guests laughing.
