Obedience among children begins with the parents. For you to control your child’s behavior, you have to be a well-mannered parent. By doing this, you gain respect from your child, likewise, have set them a good example to follow. Remember that a parent always is a strong influence to his/her child’s character. This simply tells every parent to be always careful with what they say or do in front of their little ones. 

In child parenting, parents should set a good example to their children. This is an ideal thought, which is kept by those who are not yet parents, especially those who are planning to take the plunge in parenthood or matrimony. It seems so easy for anyone to utter, but in the reality, such thought is even more than a challenge for both parents to handle. Nevertheless, it is a must for all parents to show their little ones good manners, at all times, as much as possible inside and outside the house, when you are together.

A child’s mind is like a sponge, or an empty shell. By the time he witnesses a remarkable scene, he’ll store it in his brain. Eventually, he would recall those scenes, and soon would start to mimic them, exactly as what they see and/or hear from the doer. 

Here are some of the essential principles to guide you in your journey to parenthood. Utilize them for you to succeed in your goal of setting a good example to your dearest child. 

• Self-Discipline. It is a struggle for almost all parents but it is necessary. You don’t know when your temper strikes but if you are with your child, be sure to control it to avoid negative acts not suitable for your little one to witness.
• Choose the right place for anything. Quarrel between mom and dad is inevitable at home. However, as a conscientious parent, be sure to do it at the right place. Make use of the private rooms inside your house or anywhere you could fight, for as long as it is neither visible nor accessible to your child. Be sure to control your voice and watch your mouth. You might just be surprised when your child would utter the harsh words they are not supposed to speak.
• Never lie to your child. If you believe it is immoral and should never be known to your child, you are wrong. Tell him the truth but be sure to justify everything.
• Explain what he saw. Always let him understand the reason behind what is happening around. However, you have to do it in the most appropriate manner that he could surely grasp.
• Create a child-friendly atmosphere. This should be done at home.  A child-friendly atmosphere is a house where a child is taught only with the appropriate manners he ought to learn as he matures. A place where a wide opportunity of positive learning is obtainable by the young mind. 

One good indication that you have properly raised your child is the positive attitude he possess. This is manifested by the way he speaks, how he acts or reacts to any kind of situation he encounters at present and in the future.
