In tradition, non-relatives are the one to host the baby shower like the maid of honor or a bridesmaid during the wedding. However, it became common that the mother or the sister will host the baby shower party too. The most important thing is someone will take the initiative and responsibility to welcome a newborn baby or the expected child. But for those expectant moms, they should not be the one to host or organize such party due to her condition. Here are some ideas that could help make some plans regarding baby showers.

1. When to throw a baby shower party?

Baby showers are normally held before the birth of the baby; usually a month or two before the due date. It does not only bless the baby but also give inspiration and strength to the mother-to-be. Also, throwing a baby shower party before the baby comes would give the mother-to-be time to buy the necessary items for baby which she haven’t received during the party.

It is also good to throw the shower party few weeks after the birth of the child so that the guests or the relatives has an option what gifts to bring; either for the girl or for the boy. It is also a good time to introduce the baby to the world and society and be welcomed by friends, relatives and neighbors.

2. Where to throw the baby shower party?

For this kind of party, a good place to throw it is never a problem. It can be held at home, church, restaurants, fellowship area or even at any banquet halls. It depends on the hostess on what ambience she is going to project.

3. What should be done at the party?

Since it is a party, it should be fun and let the guests feel comfortable but the most importantly the mother or expectant mom. The flow of the party should be greeting time at the beginning wherein everyone could mingle, followed by a light meal or some sort of appetizers, drinks should be present too. After a light meal, it is good to have a funny baby shower game or two for everyone to laugh out loud while cakes or a punch is served. And the later part and the most anticipated is the gift-opening!

At the end of the party, it would be nice to have something to give to the guests to have a remembrance for the party. Usually, these giveaways are given when the party is over and guests are about to leave.
