One or Two Way Baby Monitors – Which Should You Get ?
Baby monitors, have recently become a piece of modern technology. Monitors used to be simple. They were just transmitters associated with receivers that just allowed parents to hear the baby when it cried. Parents could watch over their baby when they couldn’t see them or hear them. It gave parents a sense of security about their babies.
Comparing Wired and Wireless Baby Safety Monitors
Baby safety monitors can be wireless or wired. In wired monitors, there are wires that connect the monitor or the transmitter to the receiver. It works really well but has a lot of drawbacks because you are attached to the transceiver and there are a lot of mobility issues with this system.
Wireless monitors, on the other hand, use waves to transmit the sound to the receiver and you are much more mobile, making it easier to get around the house with the baby monitor traveling easily with you. There is a limit to how far you can go, however. Both one way and two way baby monitors can be wireless or wired, depending on your needs. The wired versions tend to be cheaper than the wireless versions.
Wireless Baby Monitors: The Advantages
Wireless monitors are more portable than wired monitor. You can go from room to room in your house and still hear baby fussing. They are easier to set up than the wired versions. Just put the transceiver in the baby’s room and turn it on. Turn on the receiver and the whole thing works.
There are no wires to maneuver with and it is more aesthetically pleasing than the wired versions. You can move the wireless safety monitor everywhere in the house within a certain range. Most work throughout the entire average sized house. You can also move the transceiver around wherever the baby happens to be.
Drawbacks of Wireless Baby Monitors
Interference can get in the way of a good wireless baby monitor. It can show itself as a buzzing sound, chirping sound, static or other annoying interference sounds. In a video safety monitor, you can get a lot of static or a fuzzy picture. It’s caused by other wireless items within the house such as a wireless router or wireless phone.
Even baby safety monitors from your neighbor can cause baby monitor interference. You just need to change the frequency or the channel on your device to maximize the reception. Range can also be a problem and you might not be able to hear your child in all parts of the house. It is getting better as newer models are coming out.
